On Tuesday, April 22nd, we proudly inaugurated the Mindful Feeding Initiative Foodbank in Kisumu—a transformative endeavor to support cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and to advance nutrition education across Kisumu County.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Kisumu County Government for their steadfast partnership and honored presence at this milestone occasion. Special recognition goes to our Guest of Honor, Mr. Frederick Oluoch, County Director of Public Health and Sanitation, who had the privilege of presenting our inaugural food package to Mariam, the first beneficiary of this programme.
We were also privileged to welcome five additional County representatives, whose attendance reaffirmed the power of collaborative public health action. Our thanks likewise to the CEO of Homa Bay TV, Mr. Fred Owawo, and all supporters who joined us in celebrating this landmark moment.
Looking ahead, both the County Government and International Pleroma Convocation (IPC) are very optimistic as we engage with constituent companies and organizations on their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. We invite these partners to designate the Mindful Feeding Initiative Foodbank as a beneficiary for the donation of select food items, ensuring sustained support for the patients in need.
Through this Foodbank, chemotherapy patients from underserved communities will receive consistent nutritional assistance, and Kisumu County residents will benefit from comprehensive nutrition education—fostering a healthier, better-informed community.
